 Necrologia: Henry Édouard Pasteur (1924 - 2005)

Association Henry Édouard Pasteur, a founder member and former chairman of the Association of Pasteur families, died on 28 September 2005 in Paris, France. He was 81.

Henry Pasteur, who was born in Rô, Maré (Loyalty Islands) on July 30, 1924, was a teacher of philosophy and an avid traveller. He sailed the Atlantic alone in the 80s and after retirement, continued to work as a consultant for NGOs in all continents.

Henry Pasteur was preceded in death by his parents Paul Emile Pasteur and Hélène Pasteur. He is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his sons, Gil Pasteur Tiano; and children, Olivier, Laurent and Jérôme Pasteur.

Interment was at Villefavard Cemetery, near his residence in La Courcelle (Haute-Vienne, France).

Association David Pasteur, a member of the Association of Pasteur families, just passed away in Birmingham, UK. He was 73. He is survived by his wife, Ingrid, his four daughters, Mary, Elizabeth, Katherine and Veronica, and his son, Christopher.

Association The fourth General Meeting of the Association of Pasteur families will take place on 20 June 2004 at 3:00 PM in Poligny, in the Jura department, France. This year, the General Meeting will coincide with the fourth "Find your roots day", organised by Mr Yves Guignard in Poligny. Our association has been invited to give a presentation ot its activities.

Association The 2nd General Assembly of the Association of Pasteur families was held on 23 June 2002 at Buvilly, in the Jura department, France.
This year, the General Meeting coincided with the third Journée généalogique de Buvilly, organised by M. Yves Guignard. Five persons who attended this event joined the Association on this occasion.

 Memorandum of agreement of the Association of Pasteur families

ARTICLE 1 – PREAMBLE

The subscribers by signing this memorandum of agreement agree to form an association to be known as the “Association des familles Pasteur” under the terms of the [French] law of 1 July 1901 and the decree of 16 August 1901 and to become its first members.

ARTICLE 2 – OBJECTS

The objects of this association are:

  • to establish contact between and unite in an association any person bearing the patronymic Pasteur or who is related to a Pasteur family in the world or who is interested in such a family;
  • to further by any appropriate means, the promotion, development and dis-semination of the history, the genealogy or any other matter concerning the Pasteur families throughout the world;
  • to encourage any person disposing of genealogical data on a Pasteur family to enter it into a common genealogical data base and to communicate to the association any documents, photos or archive documents which may help to a better knowledge of the history, past or present, of the Pasteur families in the world;
  • in pursuit of the above-mentioned aims, to organise or give lectures, to hold meetings or exhibitions; to edit and distribute any publications, including electronic publications; to participate in symposia or congresses;
  • to solicit for this purpose and to receive from any government, institution, physical or moral person, private or public funding.

 Objectives of the Association of Pasteur families

Association The Association of Pasteur families was created with the aim to bring together all those who bear the Pasteur patronymic so as to encourage the promotion, development and popularisation of the history and the genealogy of the Pasteur families throughout the world.

Association The first Ordinary General Meeting of the Association of Pasteur families took place in Geneva on 2nd June 2001. Other activities were planned for that day too and all took take place within the bounds of the old town.
